I'm very new to this World of Blogs and since everyone in the world is into it, I thought I'd better get started. I had and still have no idea what I am doing but I am consulting my very dear friend and next door neighbor. She, her husband and son are my closest, dearest friends and my adopted grandchildren.

I am totally without talent and so when I see truly artistic people I am drawn to them as a magnet.

Such is the case with you and your pottery. I wish I were able to afford all that I see.

Anyway, in inquiring about your work I asked my neighbor HOW I go about this after I create my own blog which was literally yesterday.

From the pages of "Small World" I discover that you and she are old family friends. I'm talking about the sweetest woman I know, Jaimee McClellan. She, Kevin and Finn are so dear to me. HOw she manages to do all she does so beautifully if a wonder to me. I am retired and still can't do all that she does and certainly not with her talent. We live next door to each other and literally within a stones throw. She keeps me well supplied with her baking and Finn and Gretel (my Boxer) are great buddies.

Anyway, I'm taking this opportunity to introduce myself in the hopes of making you, potentially, a new friend and the second blogger I know.

I understand you are a pastor and from one of your comments I wonder if we are fellow Episcopalians?

I will not keep you after this "shocking" introduction but I do hope we can begin a friendship and perhaps a "patron" for I love your work and especially that "Tree" piece on your site.

Thanks for listening and I hope to hear from you.

Hello Richard. What a wonderful note. Thank you for your kind words about my pottery. I enjoy doing it very much. I live a very busy life and it is bit of quiet and solitude in the midst of the craziness.

Jaime is wonderful. I did grow up with her. Her mother and mine have been friends since they were teenagers. Jaime actually made our newest daughter's (now 2 months old) birth announcements. They're wonderfully creative.

And yes, we too are Episcopalian. We're members of a rather progressive church in Chatham NJ. I love that the Episcopal Church has room for everyone. I know the church is going through a bit of chaos right now, but I hope and pray that everyone will recall the via media that our church was founded on.

While I'm not a Priest/Pastor, I'm very active in our Church. I attended seminary and did consider ordained ministry. Luckily, I have found a place in the church where I can work actively as a layperson. I'll be preaching next week at my daughter's baptism. I'm also hoping the pitcher I made to pour the water during the baptism comes out of the kiln looking wonderful on Wednesday!

Not sure when you posted this. I haven't been blogging much in the last month. Everyone in my house has been sick. It has bounced around from one to the next. I'm hoping we're all on the rebound.

Thanks again for your note. I should be online more often now that we're getting healthy!
